Frequently Asked Questions

Were you going to ask me...

(1) ...if a certain anime is available on VHS/DVD, or where you can get it?

If so, then you need not read any further! I mean, after you finish reading this paragraph, that is. If you just stopped reading now, that wouldn't be very helpful at all. Yeah. Okay, so when I want to find a specific anime, I always first check Anime Nation, Amazon.com, and The Right Stuf. Most of the time I can find what I'm looking for at one of those places, but if not, I then check out Cool Stuff and Robozone, as they tend to have older, more difficult to find anime. And if I still can't find it, I head over to eBay and Yahoo! Auctions. You wouldn't believe the stuff you could find there. But sometimes even that doesn't work, though, in which case I just try a Google search. So if you try all of this, and still can't find what your looking for, asking me won't do you a bit of good, because this is the exact procedure I go through. I don't know if it's available. I don't know if it was ever made available. I don't know if it will ever be made available. If I knew about some special anime that couldn't be found using the above mentioned steps, I would tell you about it here.

(2) ...where you can download a certain anime?

I'm sorry to say that I don't really know. Right now there is plenty of anime available on television and at NetFlix, so I really have had no need to go searching for more to download.

(3) ...to send you a picture or additional information?

Then I should let you know that all the pictures I have available are already on my website. So if you want a picture that's not on the site, all I can suggest is to do a Google search. As for information, I usually don't have additional information, but even if I do, I just don't have the time to send it to you. Sorry!

(4) ...anything about the time, channel, or existence of a certain anime that will be shown on TV?

You should check out Anime on TV and TV Guide. I have a TiVo, which automatically records shows for me, so I don't need to know the time or channel that it comes on... and usually I don't. Additionally, if you're going to ask me if a certain anime was taken off the lineup, the same answer applies. Check those sites, and if you don't see the anime you're asking about then it probably was removed. And no, I don't know if it will be brought back. I'm sure that kind of thing is up to the programming department, of which I am not a part of.

(5) ...a specific detail about a character or anime, such as how tall is this character?

For characters, I list the following information when I know it: name, alias, race, gender, age, birth date, hair, eyes, height, weight, body measurements, blood type, status, quote, voice actor/actress, and the anime in which they appear. For anime, I list the following information when I know it: title, episode count, release dates, company names, producers, creators, directors, related anime, the availability of the anime, and the characters which appear in the anime. I'm not trying to keep secrets from you, so if there is no info listed for one of these fields then I don't yet know it. If your question is not about one of those fields, then ask away!

(6) ...something very general that requires a lot of explanation, like what happens next in the story?

A question like "what happens next in the story" or "I missed a few episodes, can you fill me in on what happened" is so general that answering it would be just like writing a description for the profile. Of course, that would be a good thing, but if I knew what happened or had the time to write about it, I would have done so already. I would like to write more, I really would, but I now have a career, a wife, and a website which provides a ton of new e-mails every day, so I just don't have the time. Questions are fine, I like being able to help, but please just don't ask something that requires me to write an essay.

(7) ...who owns the rights to a certain anime?

Who knows? Not me. Sorry I'm no help on this one. I don't really have a desire to license an anime series, and so I have no reason to keep track of what company owns what property.

(8) ...if I will add a profile for a certain anime or character?

As much as I would like to take requests, I just don't have the time. I receive new profile submissions everyday, and am currently unable to keep up with them all.

(9) ...why I didn't put up the profile you sent in?

Please keep in mind that I'm usually really busy, and people submit new profiles everyday, so at any given time I will have hundreds of profiles waiting for me to do. Thus, the odds are that I just haven't gotten around to it yet. I wouldn't start worrying unless it's been like 4 or 5 months. And usually, if I choose not to use a profile, I will e-mail you and let you know why. Of course, if you didn't provide an email address then you'll just be left wondering. Oh yeah, and sometimes if I find that the description you submitted was actually taken from another website, I'll just delete it and not give it a second thought.

Ryoko (Tenchi Muyo) (10) ...if I will do a link or banner exchange with your website?

Let me start out by saying that I HATE link exchanges, and I WILL NOT do them. When I find a site that's cool and that I think the people visiting my site would really like, then I'm linking to it regardless of whether or not they'll do the same with my site. The visitors come first, not some traffic ranking number, so not linking to a great site just because the other site won't link back is insane!

Now, if you think your site is cool and unique and people would love visiting it, then by all means go ahead and tell me about it. When I get a chance, I'll head on over there and check it out. If you want to link to my site, then THANK YOU! I even have banners and buttons available if you want them. But do it only because you want to, not because you expect a link back to your site in return.
