Cartoon Description: Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker
Notice: Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker is not Japanese Animation! It is a cartoon produced in the US (though animated in Japan through TMS). However, because it has a style that is strongly influenced by anime, I have decided to include it on this site. If you're one of those hard-core anime purists who can't stand seeing a non-anime series on a site dedicated to Japanese Animation, then just press the Back button on your web browser and pretend like you were never here.
In the future, teenager Terry McGinnis has taken the mantle as the new Batman while under the elderly Bruce Wayne's wing. However, Batman's deadliest enemy has mysteriously returned to terrorize Gotham City once again. Taking control of the Jokerz (a vicious gang taking after him) he begins his assault on the city. To make matters worse, he knows everything about Bruce Wayne and his former alter ego!
Now Terry must face his biggest challenge ever as he stands against the seemingly immortal Clown Prince of Crime. But stopping him also means opening a painful chapter from Bruce's past, one where the Joker made his most incredibly sadistic punchline ever....
Who is this new Joker, and will Gotham fall from the return of one of its greatest enemies?
