Sven is Train's partner. Before he became a sweeper he worked for the IBI with his partner, Llyod, who has the ability to see the future. One night Sven is captured by some thugs with a grudge against him. Llyod, "seeing" what was going to be Sven's fate, comes to Sven's rescue and dies in the process.
During all of this Sven's left eye is damaged and he receives Lloyd's, giving him the ability to look into the future - though only when the eye is uncovered (he wears the eye patch because it drains him to use his left eye too often) - and he can only see a few seconds ahead. He has a father-daughter relationship with Eve at the moment (though it seems at times that she thinks of him as more than just her dad) and is very firm to live by his self-made gentleman's code.
