Shu is a 10 year old boy who is obsessed with night masters. Shu is also considered to be the hero of the show, which cause conflicts between him and Jiro. Shu can be hard-headed and can get in a lot of trouble. In the first episode of Blue Dragon, Jiro and Shu are considered to be rivials.
Shu often bother Jiro a lot, but just for the fun of it. Both Shu and Kluke's parents we're killed by a land shark when they we're babies. This led to Shu and Kluke living with each other. Shu and Kluke have a lot of friends. Although Shu teases Kluke he really likes her and has a crush on her which is shown in episode 10 and episode 15.
Shu is also some what Bouquet's fiance, as she tricked him into saying it which made both Kluke and Shu mad. Jiro smiled about it because he thought it would get him and Kluke closer together. You can also see that Shu always protects Kluke a lot and Kluke protects Shu as well. Later in season 2 Shu is seen to be working with Bouquet and Noi. Shu is very found of his friends and protects them in every way.

Okay, Shu does /not/ have feelings for Kluke that early in the anime. In episode 15, Shu was upset because Kluke fell into a coma and he blamed himself. The whole 'scene' at the end was out of friendship because Shu was glad she was alright...
Also, Jiro was /never/ happy that Shu 'agreed' to be Bouquet's fiancé - that's all fan based BS... Jiro never liked Kluke in the anime like he did in the game. There may have been little incriments, but nothing like 'jealousy'... ... show more »

If shu is 10 years old, why did they pick Yuri Lowenthal to do his voice? He doesn't sound 10 at all!

Shu is actually 16 in the japanese version as it states in the episode where kluke finds the pendant that they are both the same age and born on the same day at the same time.
