Character Description: Ryoko Takeuchi
Where Kunikida gives the TAC its solid base, second-in-command Ryoko Takeuchi, a transfer from the Tokyo Police Department, gives it the drive. No less dedicated than Kunikida to stopping the Aragami, Takeuchi shows it with her very active handling of things. She's usually the first in and frequently in the thick of things. Her training with the Tokyo Police has made her a sharpshooter, so she frequently uses her handgun.
Takeuchi feels herself partly responsible for loss of Kaede, so she's pushing herself even harder to make sure the same thing doesn't happen to Momiji.
Takeuchi frequently travels with Kunikida...and not just for reasons of business. She's admired him and eventually falls in love with him. Kunikida doesn't feel himself to be right for her: especially since he's 15 years older than she...but they definitely work great together. Like Momiji, though, she has a little trouble just getting the words out. With a little persistence, though, there just may be something.
