Character Description: Android 17
Android 17 is a cyborg created by Dr. Gero and programmed with a mission to destroy Goku. Before 17 and 18 could do this, 17 was absorbed by Cell, and later 18 was also. Cell is eventually destroyed, with 17 going with him.
He later appears at the end of the Buu saga after all the Z fighters wished back everyone destroyed by Cell. He gives his energy to Goku to make a Spirit Bomb, and forces a couple of others to give their energy as well.
Android 17 also appears in the GT saga. Dr. Gero and Dr. Myuu create Artificial 17. Android 17 is taken over by the fake 17 in hell through some kind of innovation of the two doctors. Super 17 results, and would have killed... well... everyone, except he couldn't attack 18 because parts of the good Android 17 still had control.
When Goku and the gang learned that they couldn't defeat him in hand to hand combat, they devised a plan. Piccolo opened the gates of hell, letting Goku out to defeat Super 17. Unfortuntely, Piccolo became trapped there, but it was a sacrifice he was willing to make.
Android 17 is kind of like Android 18's brother.

Character Description: Android 17
Android 17 mainly appeared in the Android/Cell Saga in Dragon Ball Z, but he also had his own saga in Dragon Ball GT. In Mirai Trunks' time (during Dragon Ball Z), he and his sister, Android 18, had destroyed every main character with the exception of Bulma and Trunks.
Android 17 is one of Dr. Gero's evil creations. He was, as most of Dr. Gero's androids, programmed to first destroy Goku, and then get sucked into Cell to help him form his Perfect Form.
Android 17 was actually a very cocky and arrogant foe, who had some terrible driving skills. He also believed himself to be the perfect fighter. Android 17 was the first of he and his sister to be vacumed in by Cell... so much for the perfect fighter, huh?
As for his appearence, his hair was about as straight as they come. He always had this gun holster on his hip and a cut in his jeans just above his knee. It's a complete mystery to why...but it did make him look a little tougher...

el androide 17 es el mejor y mas fuerte ya que solo distrayendolo goku lo pudo matar (con la ayuda de la traidora de18).17 no es mala persona solo fue controlado por gero,myyu y el 17 del infierno.

yes i also believed that. i was also lead to believe that 18's name was Crystal. i think 17 is like 5'7'' or something, pretty short for someone his age

I know nearly all there is to know about DB/DBZ/DBGT, but there are a few things I'm confused about! I just wanna know the differences between Androids 17 and 18 from Goku's time and the androids from Future Trunks time! How is it that the one's from Goku's time are actually stronger than the two androids from Future Trunk's time? And what exactly are these 2 androids made out of, I believe they were human beings that were worked on by Dr. Gero! ... show more »
