Character Description: Android 18
Android 18 first appeared in Dragon Ball Z as one of the "Killer Androids" made by Doctor Gero (Android 20) along with Android 17 and 16. At first she seemd like a cold-hearted killer, but as time passed we see how kind and hurt she is under everything. At first the only person she would open up to was Android 17, but in time she fell in love with one of her "enemies", Krillin.
The Androids told the Z Fighters that they only wished to kill Goku, no one else. But Trunks would not believe them because of what they had done in his timeline.
In the Cell saga, when Cell showed up and started to hunt down the Androids, we truly get to see into Android 18's soul when Cell takes Android 17 so that he could transform into his next form. After that, Android 16 tried to hide Android 18 from Cell, but Cell found them both none-the-less, and took Android 18.
After Gohan (with the help of a lot of the Z Fighters) killed Cell (Cell had spit up Android 18 in the battle), Krillin (having fallen in love with Android 18) made a wish on the Dragon Balls for her (and Android 17) to be made human. Unfortunately, that wish was beyond Shenron's power. So Krillin wished that Shenron remove the internal bombs from both Androids. Even though she wasn't human, it made no difference, as Android 18 and Krillin were still married and even had a daughter named Marron. Apparently this was possible because, since Android 18 was actually a cyborg, she was partially human.
In the Buu saga, Android 18 didn't play much of a role at all. Besides the fact that she saves Bulma, ChiChi, Videl, and Yamcha from crashing.
In Dragon Ball GT, Android 18 (at first) doesn't play any real role at all. But when Android 17 comes back into the picture we get to see our favorite female Z Fighter back in action.
Android 18 is kind of like Android 17's sister.

No, 18 WASN'T wished into a human. She had the bomb, which has near cataclysmic destructive power, to be removed. The wish was beyond Shenron's power, because she is NOT a purely mechanical, robot-type android. She is a CYBORG, ie. a HUMAN heavily outfitted with cybernetics... It's even mentioned in the manga that her and her brother were runaways. Get your facts right people... ANY DBZ fan would know this... ... show more »
