Esau is one of King Moai's elite royal guards, who was a combatant in the tournaments held to amuse the king. Esau became the champion when he defeated Urdo. Later, when Nappa and Vegeta arrived, King Moai urged Esau to take them on, and he obliged. The fight was over in seconds; Vegeta calmly shot off Esau's head with a finger blast.
