Character Description: Merle
Merle is an orphan taken in by Van's family. She had been with Van through the destruction of his kingdom and is one of the few people to have ever seen his wings.
She is very close to Van and thus she gets very jealous when Hitomi comes onto the scene. She seems to have a crush on Van, but in the end it is her who encourages his relationship with Hitomi.
Spunky, hyper and with a fiery personality, Merle is one cat girl everyone can learn to love.
In the series, she is very controlling over Van. In the movie, she's always protecting Van. Merle is good at giving a laugh, but other then that not much is known about her.
