Denzel is an orphan living with Tifa, Cloud, and Marlene in the Seventh Heaven Bar located in the Slums in Midgar. He, like Cloud, is infected with the mysterious, spreading sickness known as Geostigma.

Denzel is a quiet kid and at times he can seem rude or ignorant. He sees Tifa as a mother and Cloud as a dad since he really never had any parents.
