street brawls would be Kenichi ^_^, Air Gear has some street brawls and is a good anime till the last episodes 
...Bus Gamer was a great three episode anime...Sumomomo has alot of martial arts stuff...but highly comedic...

i think Sekirei might fit into what your look for...but check it out for yourself... as of now i think it's with the new season...
wait... the new season for Zero no Tsukaima suppose to come out...
P.S is NHK the PBS of Japan...i look into it sometimes and i don't find any crazy game shows...and apparently the only show that' i find mildly interesting to watch is the one late night music show ...

yea I saw the first episode of Sekirei, I think it looks pretty good. Kinda reminds me of DearS with a martial arts twist
