What Did You Think of Summer Wars?

Postby Envy Isn't Envious » Jan 29, 2012 6:03pm

I recently (as of today) Watched Summer Wars and didn't see any topics created for this yet.

What did you think of Summer Wars

and Do you wish Oz was real?

Summer Wars reminded me an awful lot of the first part of the Digimon Movie where Tai and Matt battle a virus-infected digimon in the internet. Apart from that though it was a fairly good movie :) as for OZ being real...well the downsides of that was proven in the movie: information shouldn't really be centralised like that it's just asking for trouble. However the hanging-out-in-a-virtual-world aspect of it is still pretty damn awesome!

I thought it reminded me of the same thing. I just didn't want to be the only one who thought that.

Haha I have asked around and a number of people that do remember the Digimon Movie say that the two are quite similar, they even use the same reddish outline when they're in the internet.

I noticed that too. I think Summer Wars is still better however.

Hey did AA make the profile of this yet?

Hmmm Digimon still has the nostalgia factor for me so the two movies are about the same in my mind.

Not by the looks of it. On a side note: I think that may be one of the problems for AA, no-one bothers providing new anime information for the database (pretty sure it's mostly user-submitted) and so no traffic is directed here through the newer anime. The existence of wikipedia probably doesn't help much either.

People shouldn't look up Wiki just because "all" the info is there.

Last time I checked anyone can post anything on Wiki. I mean, back in high school I had to do a President project, decided to go on Wiki and found out Lincoln used to be a prostitute.

I know the info was false but nevertheless it was pretty hilarious.

At least AA has some credible info

People shouldn't but they do. I'm just saying that searching for anime information was how I came across this site back in 2005. I was just thinking that perhaps we should all attempt to update and add more information to the Absolute Anime database.

Agreed. People are lazy, so nothing new there

I admit...I'm one of them, lol.

I saw Summer Wars a few months ago, and I liked it, and yeah I was reminded of Digimon The Movie, espeically towards the end with the falling satellite and timer and the satellite barely missing it's target.

Oz would be a neat place, but yeah all the centralized information could cause sorts of problems if something happened.
There is no true good, or evil even the best of good intentions can cause negative effects to take place.

If we didn't centralize it when it comes to OZ, it would be a pretty interesting creation.

I would love to work to there by the way.

Wouldn't have to leave the house. I would then truly be a hermit.

If I did that I would end up becoming suicidal.
