Corpse Bride

[The Naturalist]

Being a huge Nightmare Before Christmas fan, I was pumped about seeing this, so I checked it out last night (opening night).

What I found was a great disappointment. I loved every one of the Nightmare characters, but the only character I liked at all here was the Corpse Bride herself, and that was only a limited affection. Johnny Depp is incredibly talented, but the script just didnt give him much to work with.

I also thought the musical score was uninspired; the songs actually detracted from the movie. Danny Elfman was wonderful in Nightmare Before Christmas, which would be infinitely less appealing without the wonderful soundtrack, but when each song started in Corpse Bride it was actually a bad thing.

I suggest hardcore Burton fans like myself see it, but Im afraid you are in for a disappointment.

(Tho thats just my opinion, it did get good reviews)

i havn't seen it yet but i want to. my friends went to see it twice and found it rubbish the first time yet loved it the second.

I though it was pretty good...okay REALLY good. Kinda short though. it ended a little too fast.

I agree, it felt like I was in the theatre for about half an hour!
