I use Limewire for my music and anime needs. I have strong voices on filesharing aswell...

Let me put it to you this way. Yes, filesharing is illegal, and there's no way getting around it. End of story. But you need to address the enforcement thats going on regarding the subject, and the law of it too. Apparently, according to some various lawyer subjects, P2P files challenge one's morals. A perfectly true statement. Some of us love to listen to our favorite band, yet we illeally download. We've just hurt our fave band for our own gain. But then the band knows that you appreciate their music. It's like going to a museum with free entry. You love the exhibits, but make no donation. Gain and loss negate. Another subject to think about is challeging the rich and poor. Now, as a P2P user, I wouldnt illegally download music or anime eps from a realtively new source. But from insanely rich bands like Green Day? Yea, I will. (But I havent, I buy their albums)

I dont speak for myself in the above paragraph. I rarely illegally download music, unlesss its a rare EP or something.

But, if u wanna try a P2P, go Limewire.

Be honest and buy the damn CDs man

Unfortunately, the artists recieve approximately 1/16 of the money that you spend on a CD (if that). Downloading from legal sites (napster, itunes) is slightly better, at a little more than 1/10th.

If you want legal, free music sampling, though, Napster's letting you do a 'five listens to a given song for free' deal, and emusic has a free trial which actually lets you download songs.

Neither has a particularly good anime selection, though. (Napster has some Hisaishi, dunno about emusic)

Note the following, though:

If you actually care about supporting the bands themselves, the best way to do it is to download music (illegally, yes, but what can one do?) and paypal the bands a dollar per song. That's *ten times* what they'd recieve for the same thing from a record company. (granted, some of that 90% goes to recording - no wait, it doesn't, because the record company makes the musicians pay out of THEIR share for all of that)
