Just watched several episodes of each of these animes
Sousei no Aquarion (Mecha) -5
[It has oh so shiny grafix, but it fails to hold my interest. Its mech designs are quite nice, reminescent of Getter Robo in its triple combination formations, but asides from this neat little tidbit, Aquarion is nothing special. -Seen up to ep.3)
Eureka SeveN (Mecha) -8
[So far, I've only watched 3 episodes, but it has been great so far, lovely mech designs, neat battle choreography and an interesting plot. Sounds good to me. -seen up to ep.4]
Round Vernian Vifam (Mecha) -10
[This anime reminds me why I so love the mecha genre. Emphasizing the horrors of war and tragedy, this anime initially patterns itself after Mobile Suit Gundam, but steps it up a notch higher. Simply outstanding, the epitome of 80s mecha perfection. -seen up to ep. 5]
Gaiking: The Legend of Daiku Maryu (Mecha) -8
[Having been familiar with the original 1970's Gaiking, I can say that G:tLoDM is a worthy successor. It keeps all the elements which made the original one great, despite the new cast, and above all, kept the original designs. Here's to hoping that this new Gaiking makes it into the next SRW game, along with the classic Gaiking! -Seen up to ep.7]
Danguard Ace (Mecha) -8.5
[One of Leiji Matsumoto's lesser known works, Danguard Ace manages to capture that Matsumoto feel, with the use of his familiar character designs and intricate storytelling. If the other episodes are as good as the 1st ep, then Danguard will definitely be on my top 20 favorite animes. It however, suffers from an unbelievably terrible OP. Recommended for any fans of Harlock, Galaxy Express, Yamato, or general Super Robot fans. -have only watched the 1st episode]
SRW: Original Generation (Mecha) -7
[This is purely a fanservice anime to the crazed Super Robot Wars videogame fanatics, of which I am one of them. Though it has some nice mecha designs like the SRX and the Daizengar, it will hold little of interest to anyone else.]
Superior Raideen (Mecha/Super Sentai) -2
[Imagine my shock, when I watched this fansub expecting a good remake of the Yoshiyuki Tomino/Tadao Nagahama classic Brave Raideen, when instead, I got a homoerotic stew of naked pretty boys, highly reminescent of Gundam Wing. Not nice, not nice at all. -seen up to ep.3]
Cutey Honey (Action Shoujo?) -8.5
[Done by the Legendary Director Go Nagai, creator of Mazinger Z and Devilman, Cutey Honey is a clear indicator that Go Nagai can succeed in creating an anime from any genre, and make it great. -seen up to ep.12]
Re-Cutey Honey (Action Shoujo?/Borderline hentai) -6.5 [Not as good as the original, this OVA has way too much unnecessary fanservice, which gets distracting and detracts from the plot sometimes. -completed the OVA]
These shows are not anime, but are closely related enough to warrant me placing them here.
Kamen Rider Black (Tokusatsu) -9
[Have you ever watched one of Saban's live action TV programs involving superheroes in helmets and hardsuits? And hae you dismissed all similar shows as idiotic and childish? Well for those who do not know, Power Rangers are adapted from Japanese Super Sentai and Tokusatsu tv programs, which are much more entertaining than "power rangers", simply because these Sentai and Toku shows do not try to insult one's own intelligence. Now step aside, and take a look at Kamen Rider Black, Once butchered and retardified into Saban's Masked Rider. In my personal opinion, Kamen Rider Black is one of the best of Japan's live action tokusatsu and/or super sentai TV programs. Though its special effects may seem primitive today (it was originally broadcasted in the 70s), its plotline, involving murder, death, betrayal and revenge, is not. Its excellent choreography, deep plot and 3d characters all make up for the limitations of its time. -Have already watched every episode as a child, today am rewatching up to ep.7]
Garo (Tokusatsu) -8
[Generally I don't go for the whole fantasy based toku stuff, but this time I made an exception. A dark and more mature toku show, this TV show obviously has a good budget (Which may explain why its run consists of only 26 episodes), and sports some nifty fight scenes that are quite reminescent of the Matrix (Since the lead does not fight in his hardsuit for quite a while, opting to fight in a stylish white trenchcoat). The design of the Horror monsters are delightfully fiendish and twisted, and the whole concept is quite unique. My only beef is with the tacky gold hardsuit color, but otherwise, this is a fine piece of Japanese TV. -seen up to the 4th ep.]

Night shift nurses, I have been disturbed by this one, and the ending (10 episodes long) was the saddest thing I ever saw. I cried my butt off on how things turned out.
THe show itself is disturbing, egg stuffings (DO NOT ASK) feces (Dont ask again) and just horrible scenes of torment, that mad doctor is a b**t**d for putting them through heck like that. Very sad indeed.
