Mariam shook her head "i'm not exactly wearing the best clothes for riding" she smiled pointing to her dress "but enjoy yourselves"

Luriyu walked out of the building shadows and waved over "this will seem like fun i'll follow you later, i'll go grab my ride". He turned to Mariam "well let's get this info over to the council" and passed her a small red notebook, with golden rune stone writing on the front. Mariiam nodded waved good bye and walked inside the castle, Luriyu followed as they both headed toward the guest wing.

Dragtire formed a ball of nuclear fire around himself and darted towards the sky. at 100,000 miles off the ground, he turned around and fell asleep while he was falling.

Ze having almost fallen several times took a seat. She sighed happy Rozac couldnt feel her body temp. when he grabbed her.

As Amalthea grew used to Kaereli's movements, and she convinced herself she wasn't going to fall, she relaxed her grip and glanced around her surroundings, even though to either side of her there wasn't much to see. When she chanced a look down, she was astonished at how beautiful everything seemed to look, how all of the colors below her were clearly defined and created outlines and shapes of the city and the landscape. She smiled to herself and began to enjoy herself, and she kept telling Kaereli thank you for allowing her to ride her, for entrusting her with such a great honor. Mentally, however, she argued with herself on how to prove to the Dragon she was to meet how it could trust her as a rider and a friend. Convincing herself that she was worthy enough to stand beside a Dragon, however, was hard enough. How was she to convince a Dragon that she was worthy, if she couldn't convince herself?

Gabriel smiled at the little girl as she bounded in and out of the restaurant. To the man behind the counter, she requested a small glass of her favorite alcohol and glanced around the diner.

Dragtire was still falling from the sky, still sleeping.

Kaereli and Omenicus rose high into the air, clouds hanging around them like a fine mist. Up here the air was cold, but Kaereli seemed to radiate heat, so Amalthea didn't get too cold. It felt like sitting on a radiator.
"We are going to those cliffs you can see on the horizon. Your dragon resides there," with a flap of her great wings she began to fly towards the cliffs. They sloped upwards from fields, the drop invisible from this angle, but the great ocean sparkled beyond it. Omenicus, Nathaniel riding elegantly on him, flew behind Kaereli, keeping an eye out for danger

The food and drinks came. Rozac was starving. He hadnt eaten at all that day. He chowed down on his food. "That was good. I forgot to eat today with all the excitement. And then then Knights. Dont get me started on them. I really do hate being one of them. I dont mind helping people. I like helping people. I just hate the rules and restrictions that were put on me."

Dragtire was at 5,000 miles above ground. He started to shine a cobalt blue color

Amalthea glanced around and saw the cliffs that Kaereli had pointed out. She couldn't help but be reminded of sharp teeth, but the thought came and went quickly. The thin clouds made her smile, and, when she caught a glimpse of the glistening ocean, she gasped in wonder. She'd never seen the ocean before-not anytime that she remembered, anyways. As they grew closer to the cliffs, something at the back of Amalthea's heart jumped and danced like fire, but she couldn't identify what it was.

Krishna had wandered into town in a huff. His thoughts-usually extremely commonplace and childish-kept wandering to the embarrassment he had suffered in the Court today, and complaints on how they could let a woman (nay, a child) on the Council. It was completely absurd. He walked, haughtily, over to his favorite place to think-a very shady spot beneath a willow, a little bit on the outskirts of the city-and sat down next to the tree's trunk. His Dragon, Phobos, was still asleep in the Court's Dragon Keep, but then, he always had been a lazy Dragon, for the most part. When he sensed Krishna's distress, he roused and took off to go look for him.

Gabriel sipped at her drink, still surveying her surroundings with a critical eye. As Rozac ate, she muttered hints to him under her breath about "eating properly" and the like, but he seemed to have ignored her, so she gave up. "You know, you could do with a set of rules, I think. It's what makes the world go round," Gabriel said critically, raising an eyebrow at him, but smiling at the same time.

Theia had been resting-until the fire began dancing at the back of her heart. She jerked awake and glanced outside, into the sky. She could see nothing yet, but she did have a feeling she knew who was coming to see her and why. She hadn't been visited for a long time, not that she minded seclusion. She got up and headed towards the mouth of her cave and out onto the ledge. There were a couple of trees and a small pond that she had dug herself. Mountain goats came leaping around her ledge often, and she was-by now-an experienced huntress and tracker. "I wonder to what I owe this pleasure," she muttered to herself. Her voice was a bit deep, musical somewhat-all soft edges to her voice had been hardened and roughened throughout the years. "Kaereli brings with her a visitor, that much I can tell." She continued to whisper to herself as she perched on her ledge and waited for her visitors to come and land.

Ze drank her water not eating ". . . ." She watched Rozac eat.

With stead wing beats, they grew closer to the cliffs. Kaereli dipped to the left slightly and began to spiral down. They just broke over the edge of the cliffs and soared over the ocean, before turning and flying back to the cliff side. It wasn't a straight down cliff face, but had dragon sized paths cut into it and vegetation growing on these ledges. A great cave gaped and a majestic dragon sat in front of it, beside a pond. Several mountain goats scampered away. Kaereli alighted just on the other side of the pond and pulled herself up to her full majestic dragon height.
"Theia. It is I, your princess, and your Council Elder. You know me as the only one who believes in you and your status. So you do not need to put your facade of ignorance on infront of me," she smiled toothily, "It is good to see you again, I do miss your company," Kaereli had known Theia for a long time, but was saddened when the female dragon had put herself into solitude. Omenicus landed a bit further back, having more of a prejudiced view on the female dragon being the fire dragon.

Theia smiled back and bowed to Kaereli before addressing her. "Nay, not to you, maybe, but what about your company?" Theia asked slyly, indicating Nathaniel and Omenicus. "To what do I owe this visit?" Theia asked this at the exact time that Amalthea poked her head around from behind Kaereli's neck. The leaping and dancing that had begun in her heart swelled and grew faster. Theia felt it, too, but ignored it. Instead, she turned to Omenicus. "Still having hard feelings about me, I see, Omenicus? I'm sorry for that," she said, obviously sarcastically. She turned great gold eyes onto Nathaniel. "Master Knight Nathaniel, it's always such a joy to see you," Theia said, a little bit more respect for Nathaniel than for Omenicus. Only then did she turn her eyes, scorching and seeing, to Amalthea. "And why have you brought such a little thing with you? Seventeen years nigh, and a child at heart. What business has she here?" Theia asked these questions to Kaereli, but she did bow to Amalthea, seeing as how she had somehow gotten Kaereli to allow her to ride her. That always deserved respect. And, she was a guest of Kaereli, riding her or not, which usually meant the person was important.

Amalthea lost all thought and abilities of speech at the sight of the great Dragon that stood before her, proud and haughty. She gaped in wonder and nearly fell off Kaereli when the beautiful Dragon bowed to her. She slid off Kaereli's back and returned the bow, immediately humbled. The Dragon standing before her was satin red, with yellow glints when the sun hit her scales. Her eyes were a fiery, molten gold, and her spines were a brilliant shade of orange. She struck Amalthea as a living, breathing flame in the shape of a Dragon. And, oh! her wings! The gossamer skin that was stretched was slightly transparent, and sparkled like jewels. Amalthea did not approach the Dragon, and did not speak to her. She had always heard that it was bad manners-and a show of disrespect-to speak to a Dragon who has not spoken to you first, or to approach one without their permission.

Phobos leaped from the Dragon Keep and soared over the city, searching for Krishna. When he did find his Rider, he alighted next to the tree, and had to brace it with his tail so it wouldn't fall over. "Krishna, what troubles you so? I do not remember the last time you were so distressed." Phobos' voice was deep and rumbled, but had a graceful quality to it-the mixture of a bass drum and a cello. Krishna glared at his midnight-black Dragon and responded harshly. "They wish to allow a woman onto the Knight's Council." Phobos stared for a moment, then barked out a laugh that sounded like a clap of thunder. His ivory colored teeth shone through his lips in a toothy grin. "You always were a very childish one, Krishna," he said, and laughed again.

Kaereli smiled as Amalthea dismounted her.
"This, Theia, is Lady Amalthea. I know you can feel whom she is. She is the Knight of Fire and the one who, if you let her, will ride you. You are both parts of the destiny Theia," she bent her long elegant neck down to Amalthea's height and nudged the girl in the back slightly so she stumbled forward.
"Amalthea, this is your dragon, Theia. You must treat her with the utmost respect, and she will learn to the do the same to you," she rose her head again and frowned at Theia, "I know you do not want to be rode as of yet, but you have been preparing for this time. I would like it if you did not cause to much trouble. Until you are ready, Amalthea will ride me. This is how important I think of this child,"
Nathaniel had dismounted and patted Omenicus' shoulder. He strolled to stand next to Kaereli and bowed to Theia
"Lady Theia, it is an honor to be in your presence," he did not have the prejudiced shared by his dragon. He smiled gently. Omenicus snorted and lay down, laying his head on his front claws, his eyes watching the scene carefully.

Rozac smiled fondly. "I suppose I could do with a set of rules. But then again, I kinda lost my childhood and had to grow up early. Plus, I havent eaten all day. I know thats no excuse for my manners." He was starting to like this woman. She gave him a motherly feeling. That was a feeling he hasnt had in a long time.

Theia boomed a laugh at what Nathaniel had said. "You honestly consider it an honor? I haven't heard something like that in a very long time, and I thank you for thinking so." Her eyes were distant for a moment before she turned them back to Amalthea. "And you, little one, are a Knight?" She laughed again, and Amalthea felt her face grow hot under Theia's incriminating stare. "A woman on the Knight's Council? I know that Krishna, for one, is not happy about that. What makes you think she is for me? She is naught but a child, and does not look or seem worthy enough to ride any Dragon, let alone you or me." She had directed this comment at Kaereli, but her words, so like Krishna's, took a toll on Amalthea's patience. She knew before the words were even out of her mouth that she was in the wrong, but she didn't give herself time to think.

"I am more woman than any who claims that I am but a child. Age should hold no sway over any, but it should hold sway even less than never over a great Dragon, such as you claim to be, Lady Theia. I am worthy because I choose to be worthy enough for any Dragon, and I guarantee you, Lady, that passion and will is enough to determine worth, and I have plenty of both. Do you still think me a child? Do you still deem me unworthy?" Amalthea knew at once that not only had she insulted Theia, she had insulted Kaereli and Kaereli's faith in her. She heard Kaereli, at least, behind her, want to express her disappointment.

Theia sensed it, too, and she gave Kaereli and the others a look that told them to stand down. Kaereli always had been a bit impulsive when something made her angry. Theia, however, was not abashed, insulted, or angry. Instead, she beamed down at Amalthea, her golden eyes on fire with admiration and a hint of respect, and snaked her neck down in a small bow. "She'll do. She has the heart of Fire, itself. Riding, however, is a matter to be discussed shortly. Kaereli, where ever did you find such a fiery woman? I don't think I've met this woman's equal." Amalthea blushed as Theia's words sunk in-she had acknowledged her as a woman, not as a child. She had acknowledged her as a strong, fiery woman. The fire in her heart danced to this fact, as though it were lively music, and she felt her heart would burst with a feeling she was not well accustomed to-pride.

Gabriel eyed him with curiosity for a moment, then laughed. "Manners can be learned-when it's not necessary to shovel food in your mouth, I suppose." She laughed again. This man was so childlike, it seemed his age and her daughter's age should be reversed.

Phobos felt something and raised his great, midnight-black head to stare at the sky for an instant. "They have gone to Lady Theia's cove," he told Krishna. He did love to see how far he could tease his Rider sometimes. Krishna grumbled. He moved to sit beside Phobos, and leaned against his great belly, still mumbling under his breath. Phobos laughed. "We should pay Lady Theia a visit. It might turn out interestingly," Phobos suggested playfully.
