I don't think it's for nerds. I think anyone who wants to can play it, it's just that nerds take the game a bit more seriously. I should know.

Seeing as how its a board game that seriously isn't hard to learn, I'd say its not just for "nerds".
On that note, before someone tries to say it actually -IS- hard to learn, the right person isn't explaining it, or you're not trying.

Actually learning the basic moves is the easiest there is. What makes chess hard is formulating the wittiest and cleverest tactics you can think of.

Chess is not for nerds, people who believe that are stereotypical. They only say this false statement because they are jealous that they cannot play chess, or they dislike nerds and chess. They only have something in common in cartoons.
Thought myself is good at chess, I use to play it almost every day in school, I could bet allot of people except one person who I didn’t stand a chance.

i play chess here and there...i am alright bu nowhere near the best
