Stop assuming things you don't know. There are many reasons I made this, but that isn't one of them. I made this thread, because i wanted to see if there was a SINGLE person on this forum whop wasn't a poser thinking they were metal. I am sick of going on forums, and hearing "OMG! LYK I AM SO A METAL HEAD! I LYKE KORN SLIPKNOT DISTURBED AND SYSTEM OF DOWN!!!" the main reason I don't like these bands is because they have no talent, sound terrible, and are overrated. Seriously, think before you assume. If this was one of those threads, don't you think it would say "Metal is awsome" instead of "Are there any true Metal music fans here?". So, please STOP ASSUMING THINMGS YOU DON'T KNOW!

korn, system, slipknot, they are all metal. all this thread seems to be doing is bashing those who do like these bands, and the sub genre they go under. i dont like korn, or dimmu bogir, i do like nickelback, but i dont call myself a metalhead. i just say "This is my taste in music, if ya dont like it, f**k off"

I like Rob Zombie, Cradle Of Filth, Iron Maiden, Metallica. That's all I know I guess, cause I mostly listen to "Alt. Metal"

Cradle of Filth is Black Metal and Iron Maiden is Heavy.

- Masterplan (Power Metal)
- Iced Earth (Power and Thrash Metal)
- Freternia (Power Metal)

I think his definition of true metal is metal that isn't nu metal.

Nu-Metal, Alt. Metal, and Metalcore are Metal, but not REAL Metal. The reason these aren't REAL Metal is because they don't have the authentic Metal sound and most of Metals atributes. Sub-genres that are REAL Metal, are Death Metal, Black Metal, Heavy Metal, Thrash metal, Doom Metal, Grindcore(fusion genre), Industrial Metal(as long as it has Real Metal sound), Classic Metal, Folk metal, Etc. As long as it has that authentic Metal sound, and atributes, it's REAL Metal.
