I disagree with most of the criticism as it's only based on other styles.

I do believe that you have a lot of room to improve, however I can see a lot of raw talent just wasting to bust out. If you saw the first drawings I did of DBZ a few years back and see what I can do now, you'll see how far you can go and I'm not even that devoted. Point is everyone has to start somewhere, so do not let those idiots(yes I'm calling you as you're acting) discourage you.


As for the proportions, look at Disney characters, their proportions are all screwed up, so unless you're going for a realistic style, which I'm not sure what you're trying to do, then disregard what everyone has to say.

Some people say taking anatomy classes help with art skills, but not having taken them myself, I wouldn't know.

Well the first post what Tea posted was interesting and it made me come put this post.

I think Neko just needs to practice, because when I started off drawing people would not stop laughing at me, then two years later almost everyone I showed my drawing to are like ‘wow’. But I’ve have had the odd ‘Oh that’s ****’ or ‘Tch, you’ve traced that!’ But that comes from jealousy or maybe they are just nasty and they are twice as good as me. :/
