"How do we know when it's done?"

"Um...when the box tells us it's done?"

Haru looked around and pouted when she realized Vincent was gone. "I dunno, our guide's gone"

Kuro took the smoke. "I thought you didn't have any" He pulled out his own lighter and lit his cibarette. "And I thought you were supposed to quit"

Alice stabbed something in the pot and held up a limp assortment of dripping stiff-looking noodles and soggy cardboard.
"Why don't you taste it?"

"Maybe if you can get a piece off for me"

She grabbed a plate and dumped about half the mess on it.
"Here."

"I didn't mean half!!" Haru took the plate. "It doesn't look like this when the cheif makes it..." She grabbed a fork and stabbed a noodle, also getting a small piece of cardboard. She closed her eyes and put the fork in her mouth. "It doesn't usually taste like this either" She said after chewing a bit.

"Is it . . . edible?" Alice asked meekly.

She spat it into the sink. "I'm not really sure. You try some"

Alice took the tiniest pinch between two fingers and shoved it into her mouth. Almost immedietly, she began to gag and followed Haru's example by spitting into the sink.
