y'know, just cause you dont like linkin park or evanescence, doesnt mean they dont qualify for REALLY heavy metal. ya might wanna re-word what ya said, before people get pi*ssed...

So tell me.

What is it you like about the bands you listed? What are your favorate songs? Why don't you tell me a little bit about some of these bands?

Well for one, they focus on their lyrics, and don't focus on misery so much. Two, they don't worry about how loud they can scream or how distorted they can make their voice, etc. And three, it would take ALL DAY for me to list my favorite songs by the bands I listed.

linkin park and evanescence dont focus on screaming. they focus on getting their song across to the public. and, if it has a message, getting that across. which is what music is about.

Listen you have some great bands here, I think you are just hearing idiots wrongly classing bands...dont listen to them.

all those bands are extreme into the cool zone so just agree to disagree

Dude pretty much all aweosme bands. Slipknot sucks. And I think evanescence is classified as power metal. Iron maiden kicks a prfound amount of rear-end.

BTW: Def Leppards early work is heavy not the watered down S*** they put out now. Beleive me I was listning to them when they did they're best work.

Twisted Sister is more accuretly considered a Hair Band. Because lets face it...if you stick them in a Glam Rock catagory you might as well add Alice Cooper and King Diamond as well because they wore make-up as well...

All the bands you listed I like. All the bands you said sucked, I hate. How wonderfully this works out for me. But seriously, you should add rammstein to your list. They are awesome. Very heavy metal stuff.

You are talking Hard Rock now...Iron Maiden for exempel are not Heavy Metal. Metallica is Heavy Metal. And what's wrong with Korn and and them. It doesen't mather if it's old music or new. This topic is about Heavy Metal. That means that I can post up whic Heavy Metal gruop I want, becouse this topic is about Heavy metal. Not ''Old music''

Nice example. The only problem with it is that Iron Maiden do play heavy metal.
