Absolute Anime

Should I watch this anime? What makes it worth watching? What are its strengths and weaknesses? Also does anyone know how many episodes will be made? I am asking because a friend of mine seems to enjoy Bleach a great deal.

but they say it get shallow after the soul society arc.

That depends on what kind of anime you're into. Not everyone is the same afterall.

Still, I haven't seen any bad talk about Bleach from anyone. The good points is that there's quite a hype and a run around about one of the main character named Ichigo (mind you. His name does not translate to "strawberry" as most people think on their first impression to the name) and the time that's set in Bleach itself is pretty much in our real time. Attitudes, reactions, surroundings...well, aside from Soul Society itself. The humor is very good and I always back-track to those parts in the series, even if it's the beginning.

If you and your friend's interests and tastes in anime is about the same, then you should be able to enjoy Bleach as well.

As for how many episodes, there hasn't been a set number just yet from what I see. It's still going. It's hit a kind of low point after the Soul Society, but it's beginning to pick back up.

Bleach is an anime that you need a certain taste for (action, blood, annoying long fillers, like Naruto.) I'm not one of those people. I like the action, I like the blood, but the Bleach fillers pissing me off =\

It's a good anime if some what slow at first. watch it.

I kinda hate how there are a good portion of close calls, where you think the person is gonna get it, but someone comes to save them just in time.

Like, someone's cornered by a Hollow, then Ichigo comes in and steps between 'em or something. Happens a lot.

But I do like the action, and the humor is very good. The storylines, too, are pretty good.

And I dunno what you people are griping about, I like the whole Bound story arc. I'm dying to see more of what happens with the whole thing that was going on before (I haven't gotten to read the Manga, but I hear it's getting interesting there)... but let's face it. Soul-sucking vampire people? That's some good entertainment!

But yeah, I just expect them to be fighting, and suddenly Hollows start appearing. "Oops, we've been slacking off on our duties!" XD

I guess you could say that they're watering down the bleach.
