Documentaries

Post by Hey »

"Waiting" (heartbreaking), directed by Marie-Claude Harvey

"Living With Hunger", directed by Sorious Samura

"Lessons From Kerala"

"A Fistfull of Rice"

"Missing Out"

"The Women's Bank of Bangladesh"

"For A Few Pennies More"

"The Sacred Cow of India"

I'll list the rest of the directors later. The first two are just amazing, I highly recommend watching them both (might be hard to find, maybe even impossible). I highly doubt any of you are even remotely interested in documentaries though, specially in ones similiar to my list.

But yeah, list your favourite documentaries, if you're into that kinda thing.

:).
I think I have actually seen a few of those.
I do like a lot of documentaries, though I can't think of them right now, conveiniently.
The only one I can really remember watching recently is "Black Chicks Talking". I'm studying it in literature class. Really good.
I'll scour my brain for others I have seen and liked.

-The Kid Stayed in the Picture. Be nice to people! Or else!
-[Insert title of documentary on Bob Dylan here.] It was a 4 part series on TV
-Heart of Darkness: A Filmmaker's Apocalypse. "I'm goen ta'ave a fookin 'art attack man!" Doco on Francis Ford Coppola and the making of Apocalypse Now.
-Bowling for Columbine. ...it really pushes the boundaries of the definition of "Documentary" but, wth? It's for a good cause people! I just LOVE Michael Moore's dress-sense!
-Fahrenheit 9/11. HA! HA! HA! HA!
-Murderball. These guys are hardcore.

I know that a whole bunch of other awesome doco's eludes me...

I saw a doco about the female orgasm. Good stuff. But some of the people were old.

There's this cool series where people have to do something for 30. Live life a certain way or something (I've only seen 2 episodes).
Anyway, in one of them, this guy had to grow his beard and live as a muslim in America. He was a very strict Christian too.

It was saddening the way he was treated! America sucks. lol
