PLEASE help me remember my childhood!!

OK, I recall as I kid renting all these "movies" about giant robots and things and I loved them. Now I now realize at least some of them were really just Anime cartoon series edited to run together. But that dosent make me want them any less on DVD... Problem is I cant remember the names of 2 of them and I really need some help! I've tried to outline the basic plots below I really hope someone knows what Im talking about!! PLEASE!!

Number 1:
A boy with a strange tatoo over his heart is raised on earth, only to find out when hes a teenager that he's really an alien prince and holds a key in his chest that could save his people... an old friend of his father teaches him a fighting technique where he becomed "white hot" and destroys his enmies from within... there are these three underwater 'tubes' that launch what comes together to form like a giant robot looking 'suit' and he gets inside and his body expands to fill it. He's got 3 eart friends that help him and they all fly flying saucers and I can remeber them chaning " U F O " and at one point they had to help him by reflecting the Sun's rays to give him power... at the end they remove the key from under the tatoo on his chest and save the day... that's all I can remember

Number 2:
Starts out with a guy reovering "the crystal light" from a comett in deep space. A bunch of aliens with wings had their home planet destroyed and want to take over earth. they use this "crystal light" to power a 18-wheeler turned super robot to battle the winged invaders... one of aliens falls in love with the piolt of the giant robot and so forth... the password for the kid to enter the robot was "light speed"

...now how can I remember all that but not the FREAKING NAME????? Its really killing me, does ANYONE know what Im talking about?????

I'm not sure..but I'm thinking of Daimos for no. # 2.

Yes, one does sound like Ultraman, but it was a cartoon and he wasnt an experiment, he was an alien. Also, Ultram man didnt have a giagantic robotic suit... Daimos dosent sound familiar either, unless I new it by a repackaged name... man this is driving me nuts... If only Blockbuster hadnt put the video store I used to rent this stuff at out of business a decade ago...

The first one sounds quite similar to UFO Robo Grendizer. You can check and see if it is the one by going to http://www.animenewsnetwork.com and plugging that name into the encyclopedia, and seeing if the images or descripions match your anime.

The second one is most definitely Daimos. The winged aliens with a destroyed home, the transforming truck and the Romeo and Juliet-esque love affair is proof that the anuime you seek is Daimos. And Daimos was shown back in the 70s with a different name in the US, so don't be surprised if you haven't heard of it.
