I've seen that trailer, as well... People should leave our anime alone >< 'Cause NO ONE is going to be able to pull off crazy DBZ action with mere actors. The actors dun even look like our beloved cast of goofy fighters... >.>

I believe I will begin the project of creating episodes based on the book series 'Acorna the Unicorn Girl'.

I think I'll wait until I actually see it to pass judgment. There are plenty of movies I've seen that looked horrible but turned out to be pretty good.

That's true... ^^; I'll go see this movie no matter what I'm saying, but I'm still pretty sure that it'll be the worst movie in the face of history. Maybe I should withhold all judgement... Especially since there's a 'The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning' movie coming out. The trailer isn't even made yet, though.

I understand what you mean Aoi, I'm usually excited about movies when the trailer comes out, like say Silent Hill, some people say it bombed, I say it was cool. Or say the Twilight series, People said it was great, I wasn't bothered to watch it but it still. But just watching that DBZ clip, I threw up a little in my mouth. I mean c'mon I understand movies stray from original medium's idea but that is just butchering it, and you can't even blame Hollywood of this, because look at The Dark Night, LOOK AT IT... It was based off a comic book everyone knows and love and turned into a movie I still masturbate to. I'm just saying I was more excited when I saw the trailer to Doom (even though it was a piece of [censored]) than I was watching the trailer for DBZ: Evolution.

Same here I'll be keeping a open mind when I go see it, hopefully it will turn out decent though.

I don't like it already. I understand it has to be tweaked but they gave it a big facelift and so now its more lossely based on DBZ.

I hate to say it. But that movie actually looks like it will be pretty good, but it'll suffer what I call the watchmen effect

Basically Dragonball Z is the anime equivalent of the Watchmen in that it's considered to be the holy grail of anime. Much like Alan Moore's the Watchmen, it has an extremely hardcore fanbase, with decent amount of buzz in the general populace and similar to how the watchmen is what people think of when they talk about graphic novels, DBZ is what people think about when they talk about anime.

Now as fore the aforementioned watchmen effect, people will hate the movie, no matter how good it is, if it differs too much from the main style and influence from the anime/manga.

Which it probably would, which is sad because it looks like it would have been a great movie, they probably would have had gotten a lot of compliments if it wasn't a dragonball title.

People should just think of the characters as the Earth 2 version, so then everyone can be happy.
Yeah, you were right about me, but can I get myself out from underneath this guilt that will crush me? in the choir, I saw our sad Messiah he was bored and tired of my laments

HA! No, You don't understand, Watchmen was obviously made a close as the graphic novel as possiblebecause of the heavy fan-base here in the United States. I've met fan-boys who squealed at the Watchmen teaser trailers. There were camera shots in the movie taken straight from the novel! Now Dragonball Evolution have you seen any specials that talk about that? Any mention of the fans? Any looming fear that the fan-boys will hate it? NO NOTHING, I have a feeling they think just because manga/anime fans are in the minority outside Japan it's not gonna matter because in they end, they get what they want, money. I hate the trailer, I hate the actors. Think of it this way, how would you like it if Elijah Wood played The Comideian in Watchmen? That's how I feel about Master Roshi and Goku and their respective actors.

Wtf?...

Nevermind the Watchmen, I think of Queen of the Damned and Blood and Chocolate when I look at this. Both movie versions of these novels stray as far away from the books as possible to the point where only the names stay the same... =/

Death Note =/= Dragonball

I saw the trailer for this new crap, and I felt sick. Seriously? How the hell is it even going to work? I hope it bombs.
