Tsunade can't be the grand-daughter of either of the 4th or 3rd, because Tsunade is the same team as Jiriya (crap, I can't even spell his name ;_;), and Jiriya trained the 4th. Konohamaru is the 3rd's grandson, and theres a huge age difference there.

Well it said her brother was one of the two's grand son. Maybe it was the 2nd... im not sure which...
btw its Jiraiya.

Jiraiya is stronger than her i read on and he said to her that he will kill her if she helps orochimaru. That has to mean he is stornger than her.

Well, the answer to this is simple and even stated in both the manga and the anime series.

Jiraiya didn't WANT to be Hokage. The elders of Konoha ASKED him to accept the role and he flatly refused to do it. However, he said that he would search for Tsunade and bring her back so that SHE could be the next Hokage.

More or less he didn't want to be tied down with it and/or he felt Tsunade was a better choice.

Interesting to consider, too, since Konoha is in a period of rebuilding... whom better than a reknowned healer to lead this effort?

Tsunade is the grand-daughter of the 1st Hokage, the finder of Konoha Village.

Tsunade become the 5th Hokage coz Jiraiya don't want to, plus they need Tsunade to recover Sasuke and Kakashi who has been attacked by Itachi.

In my Opinion, its a bad Choice of Sannin, a pervert, a Drunken Gambler & an Evil dude.
