its not at all hentai. its just a romantic comedy with mild nudity and some adult-like jokes and themes. (thats why on the back of the manga it says, 16+)

Correct, Love Hina would fall under the category of Ecchi. Do not confuse this with Fanservice...

No, it isn't hentai...its comicality is quite similar to the Boccaccio's one...
Do you know Giovanni Boccaccio? He's an italian poet of the late XIV century...the author of "Decameron".
Some stories he wrote are a bit..."hot" but not vulgar, such as L H!
