wat determines the kind or what you alter ability does like what factor decides that an alter users ability will be a big gun or that it will be a humanoid like jetsui.

cause i read that kazuma adopted the shell bullet and the ability to propell hisself through the air from straight cougar (only cougar would do shell bullet or whatever with his legs) and i don't understand how that would be possible

i mean if you had the choice i'm sure more people would have alter abilities that wouldn't put them in the direct line of fire then those who would choose to get hit themselves like kazuma

It's hard to say and it's never fully explained. However, it's probably safe to say that at least part of what makes an Alter take shape depends on the Alter User's personality and character.

Take Zetsuei, Ryuho's Alter. It was first formed right after a tragic incident six years back. At the time he formed it, three things were filling his mind: memory, revenge, and defense. Also take note that in its normal form, Zetsuei is bound, restrained. Personality-wise, Ryuho is similarly restrained.

well that much i kinda figured on my own but i guess what i was looking for was if that much is true then how can kazuma have adopted his ability from cougar (who turns out was a friend of kazuma when kazuma was young) ryuho i almost completly understand why his is the way it is

You could say that Cougar was an inspiration for Kazuma. This may have had an influence on Kazuma's Alter taking shape the way it did.

it can't be completly random cause ryuho's was formed on purpose

and if cougar was the influence for kazuma's then like why did he only put on his right arm and not both

later on in the season like the end i think, when they face the final boss both kazuma and ryuho will evolve their alters and have full body armor

It's only part inspiration. A good chunk still comes down to personality. Kazuma, if you'll note, is a slugger. He tends to bull his way through something in his way. So his Alter revolved around his tendency to punch through things (in contrast to Cougar's penchant to rush through things).

yea i guess i get that much but i was really kinda wondering why it's like only his right arm and not both as that would prove much more effective

The raw alter is formed by the personality of the alter user. He uses his own skill to refine and shape his alter afterwards.

During the fight with Kyoji Mujo, Kazuma gets pretty pissed and completely covers himself in kickass orange armor. He is almost invulnerable to damage in this form.

Ryuho, when fighting the crystallized form of the otherside, finds Zetsuei is unable to win. He uses dead Scheris's hair clip and merges with Zetsuei. In this form, he utilizes teleportation and uses to sharp shoulderblades as attacking weapons.

Cougar gains full body armour too, but it isn't enough. Kyoji Mujo reads Cougar's mind and easily dodges all attempts of attack. Then, Kyoji drains almost all of Cougar's life and alter energy.

Oh and what about Emergy's super pinch? it was his toy when he was little and when he was in danger that's when he got it.

Likewise. Emergy's emerged as a combination of his memories of the robot toy and his desperation from being cornered on the cliff (thus "Maxfell on the Cliff").

It's hard to discern the sources of the other Alters, but it's not hard to imagine them filling a similar pattern, with the details of their origins simply unimportant to us and thus obscured.

The only alter power I really don't understand is Kanami's power to contact and since people thru her dreams. I really never saw the uses for that.

That is actually critical to the plot. It'll become clearer in the second half of the series.

the only alter i didnt understand whars that holy chick the one that likes ryuho and has thatb uniform miniskirt all the time......Whas her name again?

Scheris Adjani is her name. Part of the mystery is that no one outside HOLY really knows about her Alter ability. We won't even see it in action until quite late in the series.
