Winry Rockbell is perhaps the closest thing the two Elric brothers have to family back in their hometown of Risembool. She's grown up in and now lives for the family business: automail. She learned the business from her grandmother. Tragically, she's the only family left. Both her parents were killed when they went to Ishbahl to care for people during the rebellion there.
She's developed the personality of this world's equivalent of a gearhead--a machine junkie. She simply can't resist anything mechanical: be it a State Alchemist watch or the latest tools or automail parts. She can literally go as gaga for a shiny new tool as a normal woman would for the latest jewelry (play clip
). But deep down, she's genuinely sympathetic and somewhat concerned for Ed and Al's headstrong quest for the Philosopher's Stone. Still, she won't stop them and will even do what she can to help. Winry has designed all of Ed's automail limbs to this point, and she continues to repair and upgrade them when necessary. But in kind, Ed never criticizes the quality of Winry's work (except perhaps in jest).
Originally staying in Risembool, even when Ed returned home for repairs, she ends up going to Central because she forgot a critical part for Ed's new arm. A series of circumstances then causes Winry to travel together with the Elrics from episode 25 onward.
Winry loves mechanics, especially automail. She is Ed's automail mechanic and a close childhood friend of the brothers. Winry cares deeply about both of them, but has a tough side that is usually unleashed on Ed and sometimes Alphonse. The mechanic is rather prone to throwing and hitting people she is angry at with wrenches. She is a prodigy in her way, being a talented automail mechanic at only 15 years old. Winry is learning the trade from her grandmother, another gifted mechanic, Pinako Rockbell. Winry also loves to take things apart and put them back together. As a side note, she has a dog named Den.

Marcy Sharp reminds, me of Winry Rockbell, in her twenties, in such a way, she looks like her, in every sense, of the word, the good part is...she doesn't throw wrenches! I like that thought, since it would, hurt very badly, or would leave one, in the hospital for a spell. That would not be good.

Winry Rockbell would, love going to, Harbor Freight Tools, Sears, Home Depot, Lowes, Ace, Menards, swap meets, flea markets, and anywhere, that sells tools, and with that, she could help, on fixing a, GMC Scenic Cruiser from 1954, even it said it ran strong, and is from Calfornia, asking nine thousand, nine hundred for it. Even so, it seems that the, the air bag suspension, in fact, Marcy Sharp should, release her inner, Winry Rockbell, since one never, knows would go, awry on the road, she would be awesome, working on that, huge, diesel pusher known as, 8V71, she would be nice, considered that I, would be the, nicest thing I would, to say that, she would get, to keep it rolling, for miles. That ex-Grayhound bus is very rare for the production number of 1001from, 1954-1956 with service from 1954-1976, encompassing the end, of the Korean War ,to the start of the Vietnam War and the, end of the Vietnam conflict, being sold at $16,000 a pop. They live on as motorhomerestored machines, and tour buses, lovable in that respect, and Winry Rockbell would make a good auto mechanic, it would be, a good job, for her. I know someone, who looks just like Winry Rockbell, her name is...Marcy Sharp, working for CBRI, in Corydon, Indiana! She's as old as me, we were born, in the 1980's, 1987, to be precise. HANDS OFF! SHE'S MINE!!!!

Winry's awesome, but I don't liek it when she throws wrenches at Ed. But I friggin roflmfao'd when she was throwing wrenches at Al coz he thought that his memories were fake. Iwas all like "Winry! Stop i-pfffft omg! I guess he sorta deserved it..."
