Batou is an ex-military ranger, who fought in the South American War. He tends to get angry easily, and likes to give people heat, y'know, banter with them, especially Togusa. Batou is a good companion and a comedian when time permits. His most noticeable cybernetic enhancements are his eyes, which look like disks, but about 50% of his body is prosthetic. Batou is constantly weight lifting to see how much he can handle, and is the muscle of the outfit.
He is good friends with the Major and might have feelings for her, though he does have a wife and kids.

No he doesn't. In episode 16 he goes undercover, posing as a military guy and saying that he has a wife and a kid to the guy he's spying on, Zaitsev. But it's just a part of his cover. In the photo of him & his family in his wallet his "kid" is one of Togusa's kids, and his "wife" is the Major.

umm.. Batou doesn't have a wife and kids, does he? O.o
I'm pretty positive he doesn't.
