Character Description: Walter C. Dornez

Walter serves many roles in the Hellsing Organization, from helping Integra during her work to butler services, to eliminating bad guys if needed. Known as the Angel of Death, he uses very sharp garrote wire to slice his enemies to ribbons.

Besides that, he is an expert at making weapons and designed both Jackal and Joshua (Alucard's guns) and the Hellsing ARMS Anti-Midans Cannon (Seras' gun).

While working for Integra, Walter was also a spy for the Nazis.

but even if he's a traitor, he's my fav character!^.-
I think he's not realy a bad person (and he looks absolutly great in his dark, young form!<3 XDDD).
I suppose he joins Millenium not because he likes them or their goals, he has his own one: he wants to destroy Alucard but I don't know why he decides to do this.

contains SPOILERS:

Perhaps he does attack Alucard cause of the fight with the captain in 1944. The vampire left him alone with the werwolfe -how should a 14 year old boy defeats such a monster?
I can't say something sure because the Dawn is not finished yet, but it's obvious that Walter was almost killed by Hans. Of course we know that he survived, but how and why, that's unknown. Supposely he joined the Letzte Batallion because he was so disappointed of Alucard. He surely wanted a revange for this inexcusably behavior of the No Life King who was perhaps jealous of Walter because he's so strong although he's a child.
Walter has had a realy hard life (how I said: he had to be a soldier since he was 14! (perhaps he was even younger as he came to Hellsing...o.O)) and I can understand that he hates Alucard. The "Count" is very selfish, aggressive and arrogant (however, he has a hard fate, too. If you read "Dracula" and the last Hellsing book, you can imagine that...:?) and the only thing he can do realy well -or better "perfectly"- is killing. He lost everything and now fighting is his whole life and he can never die. So I think he could not bear that there's a human kidd that could become better in his job as he himself was. So, he perhaps wants to let the captain kill the boy, but he didn't.
I even can imagine that the young Walter fell in love with Girlycard, Alucards female shape, or even he thought that Alucard was something like his best friend and in Warsaw he had to recognize that he was nothing for the vampire but a worthless chessman.
That had to be very hard for the boy.

However, you can see in Hellsing 9 and 10 that Walter wants to fight against Alucard, but he doesn't attacks Seras or Integra. That shows that he is not a realy a traitor.(his discussion with the doc shows that, too.) He is worried about Integra, I think, who seems to be like a doughter for him, and his last words were adressed to her.
He is a good guy, I'am sure. He only joined Millenium cause of Alucard, to show that he is not worthless. Intresting is that it seems that now, when Walter is old an hates the vampire so much, Alucard likes him and has something like respect.
Their characters and fates are very similar. That may be why they can’t life together and even not without the other.(Walter is terrible shocked as Alucard disappears and he recognize what he have done...)

I cant help, I think there’s more between them than only an old revalry or hate. Their conversations (like the one in OVA 3 at Alucards room or even at the window as Alucard asks him if it’s a bad feeling to get old) shows that they know each other very well. And remember: Walter gets his nickname “Angel of Death” from Alucard –that’s a realy great honor, I think.
What makes me a little bit puzzled: why does Alucard call him “Death God” in book 9?o.O
That must be absolutely a proof for respect!

I know that there are lots of “easter eggs” in Hellsing and in the moment, I’m collecting all I know and post them on a other page...but it’s not an English.^^°
(so: excuse my not sooooooo good English...^^° it’s not my native language...^^°)
Surely, there is even something special with the Angel of Death...but at the moment I’am not able to say what it is...:?

But: back to topic!^^°

I think Walter is a good guy with a hard life that made him to that, what he is. But he is not bad. He never had a “normal” life, he must be a soldier, a butler, a diplomat and a weapon manufacturer, too. Even if he liked all this, that was too much. He was intellegent, very skilled in a lot of ways and ingredible strong, but he had only to function like a machine. Nobody was interested in his feelings or something like that....
He had no family and the people who should be like one used him only as a weapon!

The debt that Walter changed the side lies by Arthur Hellsing and Alucard, that’s my opinion...:?

he turns to a vampire in chapter 74 'relics'(ninth book, eigth book you can see him serving the nazi guys), you can see him before that makin a 'cocoa' to the fat nazi guy who's behind the whole war, so basically he is a traitor

noooooooooooo what chapter in the manga did he turn to a vampire? i only watched the first anime episodes 1-13 and ultimate OVA 1-6. no idea he's a spy i'm kinda disappointed since he really can kick Freak butts and he's my fav character in the series :'(

he is a human, but later he became a Vampire with the help of Millenium.
But that happen only in the Manga...
to the character:
remember: he lifed with Alucard in one house since he was 14!
He had to become a ingradible warrior with such a "Mentor"I think.
and I think he came to Hellsing only because he had such a power, perhaps even because the organisation was looking for a human who can take the same place how Alucard...
Walter's something special, but he's human, that's sure.^.-
