Pip Bernadotte is the leader of the Wild Geese, a group of mercenaries hired by Walter C. Dollnez after the compliment of soldiers in the Hellsing Organization were killed in the attack led by the Valentine Brothers. Although he tends to come off as selfish, perverted and greedy and is a constant smoker, this French-born soldier-of-fortune is actually an honorable man capable of great bravery and selfless compassion.
Pip has also taken a romantic interest in the vampire Seras Victoria (after he got over his initial fear of her, because she is a vampire). However, Seras is put-off by him, mostly because of what she sees on the outside.

Unfortunately Pip is not alive. Seras drank all the blood in his body and he became her "familiar,"...his soul continued to exist within her body, but no Pip Bernadotte never became a vampire.
