In this second part of the Ikki Tousen trilogy, it is Unchou Kanu, who was only a secondary character in the first series, that is the central character. In this series, she now acts as a protector to a young girl at her school. This girl, Gentoku Ryuubi, isn't a fighter and prefers schoolwork, and just happens to possess a potentially-harmful power within her – one that could rival the power within Hakufu Sonsaku!
