The students of seven schools are battling each other over reasons that are years old. Many of them are trained in all forms of armed and unarmed combat. But even more unusual, many of them are guided by spirits of warriors long past.

Sonsaku Hakufu, an airheaded, young student newly transfered to Japan, is one of these studends. She is guided by the spirit of the warrior Shou Haou, who had united seven nations centuries before. However, she has an uphill battle against many of the others as she tries to unite the schools, as well as overcoming a darker side of Shou Haou's power.

Ikkitousen is an obscure and fan-servicy anime based on Three Kingdoms Era of China. The story is simple-- the main character, Hakufu Sonsaku, is the reincarnation of a famous Three Kingdoms warrior (Sun Ce). She and her lovely mother, Goei, move in with her cousin, Koukin, and she runs into school with fists clenched and skirt a-flying, beating up many of the boys for fun.

This leads to many twists and turns in Hakufu's daily life, as she learns that her sacred bead, given to her by her mother, contains the soul of the legendary Sun Ce. She continues to fight, becoming stronger and stronger...
