Character Description: Hachi
Hachi a is a close friend of Miroku. Hachi has the ability to transform himself into different forms. These forms are not very powerful, but still serve Miroku through thick and thin. Hachi is almost always rewarded in some way for his services.
In the Japanese version of the show, Hachi is actually a Tanuki demon, not a raccoon demon. A tanuki is an mammal native to Japan that looks like a cross between a dog and raccoon. Since very few people in the US know what a tanuki is, Hachi was changed to a raccoon demon for the US release.
