Nobunaga, of the Takeda clan, is an idiot who seems to have some trouble with cliffs. He has a pet monkey named Hiyoshimaru. He is first introduced as a hungry person rooting for food in Kagome's backpack. He is in love with Princess Tsuyu, who is newly married into another clan.

He helps Kagome and InuYasha fight against Tsukumo No Gama, "the immortal frog".

Note: In the DVD subtitles for Episode 8: "The Toad Who Would Be Prince", Nobunaga's name is spelled as "Omari Nobunaga".
