Kenta Usui is 16 years old and has transferred to Japan from another country (from my understanding). At first sight of Karin, Kenta's unhappiness and stress from his mothers financial situation makes Karin pass out... so later Karin tries to avoid Kenta. Kenta ends up watching Karin feed on some guy and he mistook it by thinking that she was a prostitute, so later he chews her out later. Karin figures out that it's pointless to avoid Kenta because they are in the same class and work in the same place, plus she later figures out that they both live close by each other.

Later, Kenta grows to start loving Karin and starts showing it from episode 13 on. He ALMOST says the truth in the last episode after saving Karin's life from a Vampire Hunter.

Aside from that, Kenta has natural scary eyes which came in handy when Karin was about to get sexually molested by some guy. Kenta stopped him and glared at him and the guy ran saying "MAMA!". He also scared a store owner with his eyes when his Mom was fired from her job at a grocery store because of the manager sexually harassing her.

Over all, Kenta is a nice person who cares enough to help others.
