Maki Tokitou has been friends with Karin since kindergarten, and has helped her through some of the stresses of her life. As a normal friend would do, Maki gives Karin a hard time constantly about Karin's relationship with Kenta Usui. Maki has a crush on Winner Sinclair because of his feeling for keeping people safe. Maki had a plan to confess her love for Winner by making a hand-made scarf with a big "W" on it, but sadly she was denied by Winner because of his love for Karin. In episode 23, Maki expresses her love for Winner and wraps the scarf around his neck and grabs the scarf and drags him down a bit and gives him a cheap-shot kiss. Maki doesn't know that Karin is a vampire until episode 23 when Winner tells her about it.
