Large Pole Old Man is a Tai-chi master and one of the 5 Martial Arts All-Stars - Boxer Tyson, Karate Kid, Yankee Sekitori, Kung Fu Lee, and Large Pole Old Man - which are some of Nightmare Enterprises' toughest monsters ever.
Large Pole Old Man was the fourth opponent Kirby had to fight in a stadium match. After mimicking him for a while and ending up winning in a major fluke, Kirby was able to take on his next and final opponent, Yankee Sekitori.
