Nruff is a large hedgehog who has lots of friends and a daughter named Nelly. Although Nruff has a bad temper, he is good deep down in heart and makes a great helper; he and Nelly once teamed up with the other forest animals to help Kirby and the gang save Acore.

Nruff is a boss in Kirby's Dreamland 2, and in Kirby's Dreamland 3 and Kirby 64, he shows up as a minor enemy.
