Character Description: Motoko Aoyama

Very stoic and serene, Motoko is wholly dedicated to carrying on the family tradition of being top-class swordwielders. Even at her young age, she's considered one of the best, and she moved to Hinata from Kyoto to attend a school renowned for its kendo club, just to make sure she stays in top form. She practices the art of Shinmei Ryuu and can channel her soul energy into her swings.

Part of her drive is the fact that she's not too fond of her older sister. Motoko feels that she had betrayed the family by not carrying on the tradition herself: instead, she fell in love and got married. As a result, she has forsworn men. This makes Keitaro's presence at the inn a threat to her calm and concentration, so she's frequently taking swings at him. She also can't stand Onsen Tamago (she's terrified of turtles).

Naturally enough, romance is her big failing. Not only can't she stand men and spends all her time in stoic concentration, but she's tall for her age (in fact, she's the tallest person in the entire inn, Keitaro included). Her manners are also a bit archaic: she's all prim and proper, just about 140 years out of tune.

Motoko-chan! She would make great character for Slave Maker.

So. It looks like I'm not the only Turtles fan here. Old school Turtles nonetheless ; ). Not great news for Motoko though, I don't think.

LOL you guys
"Splinter taught them to be ninja teens (He's a radical rat!)
Leonardo leads, Donatello does machines (That's a fact, Jack!)
Raphael is cool but crude (Gimme a break!)
Michelangelo is a party dude (PAAAAAAAAAARTY!)"

TURTLE POWER.

I think I may have another theory on why Motoko's afraid of turtles. Something about a past encounter with a turtle demon. But it's only a guess. It could still be what Yamasachihiko was talking about...that or she met Leonardo.

But she's still afraid of turtles though.

You mean like some sort of metaphor?

Flag[admin]#16 - Posted by Yamasachihiko on Wednesday, February 2nd, 2011 at 11:11pm:

Oh hey I've commented. I now think it has to do with what Motoko's sister said about Motoko's fear of turtles being related to Motoko's dislike of men. Jokingly the word turtle can be used as a slang word (in Japanese media), even Kitsune did once in the manga she asked Kei about his "turtle" when I read it.
