Neuro is a demon from Hell. He eats mysteries. He has solved all of the mysteries in the underworld and comes to the human world in order to find more to eat.
A girl named Yako has recently lost her father. He was killed in a locked room so it was ruled as suicide, but she can't bring herself to believe it. One day she was going through her father's things looking for clues and Neuro appears out of nowhere. He told her that he would help her find the truth.
He shows many scary faces, and can be totally clueless. He uses the 777 tools from Hell to help him solve mysteries.

I consider Neuro to be the hellish substitute for the father figure Yako just lost. Just like Godai is the brother figure since she'd been left all alone, with her mother going overseas. (I really don't understand why Godai in the last episode says not to call him ever again, but it might just be that as usual, he refuses to be honest about his feelings)
It is funny how Neuro treats Yako, and also Godai in front of and behind other people, and he does stuff to cheer Yako up and prevent her from feeling lonely, which is caring(especially by demon standards! XD though the way he does is definitely fits in with his demonic heritage!) and I really like the fact that he is not the hero that all the ladies fall for. (In quite a few other animes, the demon is a bishounen, which is really annoying)
He acknowledges the fact that everyone has a place where they are at their advantage, and even gets hurt and defeated once or twice, which I appreciate since I don't like heroes who never lose. It would seem that it was his intention to let Yako solve her father's mystery by herself, since the other cases were so easy for him. He is really powerful without necessarily being the most powerful being in Hell, which is nice. It seems that out of respect for Yako, he did not eat Sai's mystery, so he is not as clueless as he says he is about human emotions. It is cool how he depended on his 'slaves' to help him in the 'Electronic Drug' case and wasn't independent. And it is VERY NICE that he came back after sealing hell's door. I really liked that bit!
