Absolute Anime

Even when he was a youngster, Kyon hardly ever believed in things like aliens, time travelers and ESPers, much less Santa Claus. So when he entered high school, he resigned himself to be just an average person that never believed in them. But then, that was before he sat in front of Haruhi Suzumiya, who on the first day announced in class she would only associate with aliens, time travelers, ESPers and the like.

Apparently, Kyon found out from the other students in the class that Haruhi often had did unusual things during her time in junior high, not to mention turn-down every date she was even offered. They had one bit of advice for Kyon – stay away from her. However, Kyon was curious about her, and for some reason became the only person in school who would even talk to her.

That was his first mistake.

About a month after school began, Kyon soon found himself dragged by Haruhi into forming an all-new club, the S.O.S. Brigade, which she hopes to attract aliens, time travelers, ESPers and the like. She took over the literature club's room, and extorted a brand-new computer from the computer club, and wrangled Kyon into starting the club's website. She then dragged in three other students as members and began an embarrassing membership drive, which made Kyon cringe whenever he thought about it.

But soon, Kyon had discovered that the three other students Haruhi had dragged into the club – Yugi Nagato, Mikuru Asahina, and Itsuki Koizumi – had confided in him in secret that they were in fact an alien, a time traveler and an ESPer respectively, and that for some reason they had to keep an eye on Haruhi Suzumiya... and that Kyon was a key to her as well, although they wouldn't say why or prove what they were. Maybe the things Kyon didn't believe in were actually true.
