Heimdall was sent to Midgard (Earth) to kill Loki. Not only that, but also to retrieve his right eye back, which he claims that Loki 'stole'. Heimdall intends to kill Loki because of Odin's order, and also to get back his eye.

Because of the absence of his right eye, he has neck-length purple hair that covers up the right side of his face. The reason for him wearing the bulky gloves is because underneath, he has long, sharp claws. In the anime, he is more serious, but still trapped in most jokes with Freyr. In the manga however, he is teased for his obsession with Loki, and doesn't attend school, though 'Kazumi' does attend piano lessons, singing lessons, and cram school.

Heimdall is the God of Light, and the Guardian of Asgard (World of the Gods). In Norse Mythology, he can hear anything, and blows his horn when Ragnarok will happen.
