Maya Ibuki is one of the three computer techs who work with the three MAGI computers in NERV, which were created by the late Naoko Akagi. Her responsiblity is to monitor the computer CASPAR.

At NERV, Maya often works closly with Naoko's daughter, Ritsuko, which is usually in the form of monitoring the performance of the EVAs three teenaged pilots. Professionally, the two of them are just about inseparable. However, Maya's feelings for Ritsuko might run deeper than anyone knows.
