A student of the legendary sorcerer Rocks Row, Childman is one of the most prominent sorcerers the Tower of Fang has ever produced. He taught Azalie, Krylancelo, and Hartia, and the Elders are seriously considering inducting him among their ranks despite his relative youth.
But now, Azalie has been turned into a dragon, and Krylancelo has forsaken the Tower. He's been tasked with destroying the dragon that was Azalie who is now the Bloody August. If truth be known, however, Childman has a slightly different plan for Azalie. Though it appears that he's trying to kill Azalie for the honor of the Tower of Fang (as Orphen has claimed), he demonstrates that his intentions are nobler (he has rescued Majic and Cleao) though much more obscure. This is because the way he is seeking is also much more dangerous, a path only a master such as he can hope to accomplish at all.
On a side note, some websites pin Childman's age at 25 years (that's the same age as Azalie). I don't think this can be correct, however, as he looked pretty grown up when he first met Krylancelo and Azalie, and that was about 15 years ago.

apparently he ends up to be azalie. weird ending kinda thing. didn't they like switch places on the sword cause she couldn't use it? the book is more difficult and different then the show. the bloody august is like a serpent with weird eyes in the book now its a huge dragon. how confusing

I don't think he's 25 either in the show. If anything, he would probably be in his late 30's early 40s, around the same age as Flameheart since they had been rivals for a while.
