Anime Description: Planetes
Planetes takes place in the year 2075, where colonization and the progression of technology has made trips to space and the Moon commonplace. However, the rapid progression of technology has also created the problem of space debris that threatens traveling spacecraft.
The story of Planetes focuses on Technora's Debris Collecting Section and worker Hachirota Hoshino, whose job is to collect debris in space in order to prevent accidents. However, the age they live in is both an exciting and tumultuous one, where humanity is capable of reaching the stars. As they go from job to job, they face adversity from political, bureaucratic and ideological opposition to their position and the cause of exploring space. As mankind prepares to take the next big step, Hoshino himself will undergo a personal quest to follow his dreams, and learn of the conflicts, consequences and sacrifices that will come with it....
