Delia Ketchum, Ash Ketchum's loving mom, is a great cook and owns a Mr. Mime called Mimie. There is an episode when Ash is dressed up as a Mr. Mime in a circus, and his mom mistakes a real Mr. Mime for Ash and calls it Mimie.
It doesn't seem like she has a job at all, since she's always shown to be doing the household jobs that a normal housewife would do. She also likes to give Ash hard chores, but now she has Mimie to do them for her... or at least help out. In some of the episodes we see mimey sweeping, and helping Mrs. Ketchum around the house. Strangely, Ash did seem to show some disappointment as his mom had Mimie go do the chores that he used to do. She mentions once that she would make faces for Ash to make him laugh when he was little.
Delia is also friends with Prof. Oak, as she is seen with him all the time when they visit Ash. She also has a soft spot for Pikachu and Togepi. Mrs. Ketchum constantly worries about Ash and patiently waits for him to come home.

Brock stayed and helped Delia after he got back from where ever Prof Ivy is from, Delia found him and feed him and he stayed with her and cleaned and washed clothes
and helped andwas a rival to mr mime

That's what I wonder too. Ash's mom is Delia Ketchum so who is his dad?
On some sites when I have asked this some people say Ash's dad might have died when he was just a baby or maybe he went on his own journey to become a Pokemon master. Hope I helped :)

Actually, since "the neverland effect" supposedly applies to the cartoon and ash is a ten year old forever then that means she was 18 when she had Ash.
