James is the male half of Team Rocket, the other being Jessie. He comes from a very rich family. He would have had it all...if his parent's hadn't tried to get him to marry a woman named Jessibell. Jessibell wanted him to be the way she wanted, so James ran away. He met Jessie at Pokemon school and joined a bike gang with her.
He is the brains of Team rocket, and but that hasn't helped the team to succeed yet. Of course even when they do have a good plan, something still always goes wrong to mess it all up. He secretly dreams of becoming a Pokemon master.

James is NOT gay because in the manga epilogue (Electric Tale of Pikachu manga series) he tells Jessie that he loves her and they get married and Jessie is shown to be visually pregnant

there is proof that james is NOT gay.in the episode ghost at the maidens peak he spots the maiden and his eyes turn to hearts just like brock's and says "sweet!" he falls in a trance with the maiden until the old lady gives them stickers. then he doesnt want to be with the ghost and holds onto jessie.
