Mew made 10 appearences in the TV series, mostly spying on Ash and his friends. When Ash was in Jhoto, the Pokemon Celebi helped Mew observe Ash. Mew spends most of it's time sleeping in the movies, but awakes when either the Earth or Mewtwo were in trouble (Mew is Mewtwo's mother/father, in a way, even though Mewtwo appears older than Mew).

fyi: mew is an event pokemon. mew can learn any move you try to teach it.

Mew is my favorite Pokemon. My 3rd grade teacher gave her entire homeroom class a Mew trading card around the last day of school I think because more than half of us in her class was being redistrected to another school for 4th and 5th grade. I'm glade I was in her homeroom class.
